Here is a quick way to see the forecasted fishing reports for Newport Oregon heading into the tournament.

We have filled the final spot for the tournament on Saturday 7/17. If you didn't get a chance to go this year please sIgn up for the newletter so you don't miss out on the 3rd annual 2011 tournament in San Diego, California.

The 2011 BestFishingPlaces.com 3rd Annual fishing tournament will be held in San Diego. A repeat of the 2009 tournament but a later date and longer time out. In 2011, we will take the full day outer banks trip. Hopefully warmer water and distance will equal some larger yellowfin tuna and Dolphin fish or Dorado. I should have more information once this years tournament is on the books. Plan on Saturday July 30th or August 6th in 2011.

Looks like the weekend for the tournament has been chosen as a backup Halibut fishing weekend if the annual spring Halibut catch doesn't yield the quota by then.

Spring Season:
Open dates are May 13-15, May 20-22, and June 3-5.
Backup days (if sufficient quota remains) are June 17-19, July 1-3, July 15-17 and July 29-31.
The catch limit is 105,948 lbs.

Summer Season:
Open every other Friday and Saturday (Aug. 6-7, Aug. 20-21, Sept. 3-4, Sept. 17-18, Oct. 1-2, Oct. 15-16, Oct. 29-30)
until the total subarea all-depth catch limit of 141,265 lbs. is taken.
