If been informed that ocean crabbing will be closed when we are in Newport, however, we may be able to catch bay crab. Either way, fishing is what we really want.

Finally got to get back out on the awesome ocean. Beautiful day, a little overcast and slightly windy at times, but we limited out for the day, which was 5 per person, 30 rock fish for the boat. We also brought up 2 ling cod. Man they are ugly. Crabbing was the highlight on the way back in. We soaked the pots for 5 hours and came back to full pots. Roughly 65 crab, 30 of them where female or males under 6.5 inches and had to go back. I would up having 12 of them cooked up right on the dock. We kept 5 for tonights dinner :) and we shipped 7 back with the 10 fillets of Rock fish. All in all a very cool day on the water. Looks like I may have 1 or 2 trips still. A good chance to go out both saturday and sunday. Trully awesome. I'll try to get some pictures up so i can link them. I need to configure the wordpress plugin for images. Forgot to do that before I came down here.

Till tommorrow.

We've made it. Love this place. Looks like the Tuna are still 80+ miles out so I doubt we'll be going after them this time. But you never know. For now it's rock fishing tommorrow bright and early. We'll be hugging the coast and crabbing too. In the afternoon we will be back out for more Crabbing and some Pacific Coast Whale Watching. Should be fun.

Well it looks like the forcasted weather is going to be sunny to partly cloudy. Should be good enough to get on on the ocean. Oh, and the Tuna are near.

I caught 4 - 20+ lb tuna off the coast of Newport Oregon with Yaquina Bay Charters. Awesome time, everybody was in on the action. Quite a thrill when all the poles start bending and you hook up multiples at one time. Can't wait to go back in a month.
