Yaquina Bay Charters started fishing for Tuna this week with good catches landing on the dock. Averaging 15-30 pounds. The normal seems to be around 20 lbs. Hopefully we can duplicate the catches next weekend for the tournament. We need them to be at the 60 mile marker to hit them on the 12 hour trip planned for the tournament. Bring on the south winds. All participants need to make sure they have their licenses in hand before stepping on the boat. Please contact us if you need assistance with locations to purchase your license.

We are now excepting deposits for our tournament spots. You can save $20 dollars now if you reserve both days of the fishing tournament. We have updated the tournament page with the latest prize being offered to the winner. A beautiful deep sea rod and reel combo. The Fishing Rod is an Osprey trolling rod, 5.5 feet long and has an action for 60-80 lbs.  It has all roller eyes. The reel is a Mitchell riptide level wind 4/0 reel. Meant for heavy duty like halibut or tuna or deep reef bottom fishing. Good luck participants.

The bestfishingplaces.com deep sea fishing tournament is now filled We will be deep sea fishing off the coast of Newport Oregon for Tuna, Halibut or Salmon. Check out the  2010 tournament page for more information. We look forward to an awesome time out this year. Last year we had 20 participants and a beautiful day of fishing.
